John D. Simmons
Mr. Simmons was admitted to the bar of the State of Illinois in November of 2006. He is a graduate of Northern Illinois University, where he earned his B.A., and he graduated cum laude from the University of Illinois College of Law, where he earned his J.D. and honors for his participation in Moot Court competitions.
Mr. Simmons was first hired with the firm as a law clerk in January 2004, and became an associate with the firm after his admission to the Illinois bar. Mr. Simmons practices primarily in the areas of plaintiff's personal injury, petitioner's worker's compensation, and medical malpractice defense.
John Simmons focuses in pretrial procedure, including complex motion practice. He is highly experienced in dealing with the strategies and tricks that defending parties use to try and deny plaintiffs their proper day in Court. John Simmons is also an experienced appellate attorney, directing his skills and experience to challenging errors made by the court, and seeking a higher authority to set matters right for his clients. He has argued successfully in the Illinois Appellate Court both to uphold rightful decisions and to overturn wrongful decisions.
Mr. Simmons is a member of the Illinois Bar Association and American Bar Association. He has been admitted to practice in the State of Illinois, the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois, and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois.
