Illinois truck accident results in serious damage, injuries

On behalf of Jeffrey Frederick of Frederick & Hagle posted in Truck Accidents on Wednesday, March 5, 2014.

Not seeing an oncoming vehicle is a very common cause of car accidents. Unfortunately, these accidents also often result in serious injuries to the parties involved. Not seeing another vehicle can occur for many reasons, such as not paying proper attention or failing to see a smaller vehicle due to being in a larger vehicle. If such an incident involves a tractor trailer, the truck accident could cause serious damage.

A similar situation recently took place in Illinois when a tractor trailer reportedly turned in front of another vehicle. The smaller vehicle was traveling south when the tractor trailer attempted to make a left turn. This turn caused the truck to come into the path of the oncoming vehicle, and a collision occurred.

It was reported that the driver of the other vehicle was taken to an area hospital to be treated for injuries and that his vehicle sustained serious damage. The driver of the tractor trailer was apparently not injured in the accident, and the damage to the trailer was minor. Authorities did cite the tractor trailer driver for failure to yield.

Because the other vehicle sustained serious damage in the truck accident, it is possible that the driver of that vehicle suffered serious injuries as well. Hospital bills and recovery time can take their toll on an injured individual and result in hardships for the injured party, not only physically but financially. Therefore, the injured party may wish to explore his legal options and determine whether he may wish to file a personal injury claim in Illinois against the driver deemed responsible in order to seek reparations for damages.
