Car accident claims lives of Illinois teens

On behalf of of Frederick & Hagle posted in Car Accidents on Wednesday, November 12, 2014.

Losing control of a vehicle is unfortunately a common cause for accidents across the country. Drivers may suddenly find themselves not maintaining the proper lane, traveling off the side of the roadway or other situations in which the vehicle is not under control. In some situations, a driver may attempt to regain control, but overcorrection could lead to a fatal car accident.

A similar situation recently took place in Illinois that resulted in two fatalities. It was reported that a vehicle that had at least two teen passengers and a teen driver was unable to stay on the roadway. As a result, the driver attempted to move the vehicle back into the proper position but, unfortunately, overcorrected. This action led to the vehicle colliding with a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction.

As a result of the crash, the two passengers in the first vehicle suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced dead. The driver of the vehicle suffered serious injuries and was transported from the scene by helicopter. It was not reported whether any occupants of the second vehicle where injured in the crash.

The parents of the teen victims are presumably facing many emotional challenges after this tragedy. The car accident caused them to lose their children at a young age, which is certainly devastating for any parent. Not only will they have to contend with their emotional struggles, but financial difficulties could also come about due to funeral expenses and other costs. If they feel it could be right for their situation, the parents of the victims may wish to consider their legal options for seeking compensation against the parties or parties deemed responsible for the Illinois accident.
