Death, serious injuries result from Illinois car accident
Head-on collisions could be considered one of the most tragic types of accident. These incidents typically occur when one driver fails to stay on the right side of the road and, as a result, collides with an oncoming vehicle. Serious injuries are not an uncommon outcome of such a car accident, and such results could also lead to legal action as an additional effect.
An accident in Illinois recently claimed the life of one individual and critically injured two others. It was reported that a 67-year-old driver was traveling east when he failed to stay in his lane of travel. As a result, he crashed head-on with a pickup truck that was approaching in the other lane. The incident took place at approximately 9 a.m.
Sadly, the 67-year-old driver did not survive the incident. Two individuals in the pickup truck had to be rescued from the vehicle by emergency personnel. Those parties suffered critical injuries and were taken to an area hospital, but they were considered to be stable at the time of the report. The situation is still being looked into by the authorities and investigative crews.
When a car accident leads to a death and serious injuries, it can be a trying time for everyone involved. Though the driver of the first vehicle did not survive the incident, it is possible that the other injured parties may still work toward gaining compensation for damages resulting from the Illinois crash. If they wish, those individuals could potentially file personal injury claims against the estate of the driver considered at fault for the incident.
