Illinois car accident causes deaths, serious injuries

On behalf of of Frederick & Hagle posted in Car Accidents on Wednesday, February 25, 2015.

A single-vehicle accident that results in injuries for all parties could also result in legal claims. The driver of a vehicle could be held responsible for the injuries that other passengers suffered, and seriously or fatally injured parties or their loved ones may wish to contemplate civil claims options. Civil claims could help parties who were injured or lost a loved one in a car accident seek compensation.

A recent accident in Illinois could potentially lead to such actions after serious injuries resulted. It was reported that a vehicle with three occupants was traveling west when it left the roadway and struck a tree. The impact was so severe that two of the occupants had to be cut out of the vehicle by emergency personnel.

It was reported that two of the individuals suffered fatal injuries and the third party was seriously injured. The names, ages and genders of the individuals involved in the crash were not disclosed in the report. Authorities should continue to look into the incident to determine what may have caused the vehicle to leave the roadway and crash.

It was unclear whether the driver of the vehicle was the party who was seriously injured or if he or she was one of the individuals killed in the car accident. Nonetheless, there is still potential for wrongful death and/or personal injury claims to stem from this Illinois accident. If the driver died in the accident, claims could be filed against the driver’s estate, and if the driver survived, claims could be filed against that person in order to seek compensation.
