If a family has lost a loved one in an auto accident, it may be beneficial to gather information about potential legal avenues.

The parents of two teens recently killed in an Illinois accident may be considering options for pursuing reparations. It was reported that the teens were passengers in an SUV carrying six individuals. The driver of the SUV ran a red light and collided with a semi-truck that was making a left turn in the intersection. The truck did have the right of way.

The accident led to two 16-year-old individuals suffering fatal injuries. The 17-year-old driver of the SUV was seriously injured in the crash. The three other occupants of the vehicle were not injured. The SUV driver was cited for running a red light. It was noted that fog may have played a role in the accident taking place.

The parents of the individuals who were killed in the auto accident likely wish to better understand their situation. They may be heartbroken over their losses and confused about how to proceed. If they feel legal action may be warranted, they may wish to gather information on filing civil claims against the party or parties considered at fault for the accident. By gaining knowledge on wrongful death claims in Illinois, the parents may be able to determine whether pursuing compensation through such means is right for them.
