Illinois motorcycle accident proves fatal

On behalf of of Frederick & Hagle posted in Motorcycle Accidents on Thursday, April 30, 2015.

When a vehicle is approaching another vehicle from behind, it is important that the driver pays attention to the speeds of the vehicle in front of him or her. If a driver approaches too quickly, that vehicle could collide with the rear of the vehicle in front of it. A motorcycle accident that occurs in this fashion could be particularly dangerous as motorcyclists have little protection against larger vehicles.

It was recently reported that an accident in Illinois caused the death of one individual. Reports stated that a motorcyclist was traveling behind another vehicle when a third vehicle approached from behind. The driver of the third vehicle did not adjust his speed enough to accommodate for the vehicles in front and as a result, the third vehicle hit the motorcycle and other vehicle.

The motorcyclist was ejected from the motorcycle and apparently suffered fatal injuries. The other two drivers were also injured, and all three individuals were transported to the hospital. The driver of the third vehicle received a ticket for not reducing speed, and additional charges could potentially result from the incident.

When a motorcycle accident leads to the death of a person, that individual’s family may have legal options to take into consideration. Wrongful death claims are civil claims that parties could potentially file in order to seek compensation for their loss, financial burdens and other damages resulting from an Illinois accident. Additional information on civil cases may help interested individuals determine whether filing a claim is a step in the right direction.
