Truck accident in Illinois leaves both drivers injured

On behalf of Jeffrey Frederick of Frederick & Hagle posted in Truck Accidents on Tuesday, August 25, 2015.

Semi-truck accidents that involve other vehicles are serious incidents that could lead to unfortunate results. There could be a higher risk of a truck accident taking place on roadways with heavy traffic and/or multiple lanes that drivers may be using for travel. If such an incident does take place and serious injuries are an outcome, the injured party or parties may want to explore their legal options.

It was recently reported that an accident in Illinois resulted in two individuals being transported from the scene. Reports stated that a semi-truck driver was attempting to change lanes when the truck collided with another vehicle. The crash caused the second vehicle to spin and end up in the median, where it overturned numerous times.

The crash resulted in the drivers of both vehicles suffering injuries. The driver of the second car was transported to an area hospital for treatment, and the semi-truck driver was airlifted from the scene to a different facility. The extent of the injuries the two parties suffered was not mentioned in the report. Authorities will likely work toward determining what may have contributed to the incident as they investigate.

A truck accident can be difficult for all individuals involved, especially when serious injuries occur. If the injuries that the driver of the second car suffered were considered serious, it is possible that he could have cause to pursue legal action against the driver of the semi-truck. Filing a personal injury claim in Illinois may allow him to work toward compensation for pain and suffering, medical costs for treatment and other related damages.
