Car accident in Illinois may lead to civil claim

On behalf of of Frederick & Hagle posted in Car Accidents on Friday, October 2, 2015.

Some areas where roadways intersect may be difficult to navigate for drivers. As a result, it is not uncommon for a car accident to take place at intersections. These incidents can range from minor fender-benders to serious crashes that lead to severe injuries for the individuals involved. Additionally, an accident could potentially lead to the filing of a civil claim.

It was recently reported that an accident took place in Illinois between two vehicles. The driver of a car was apparently attempting to make a left turn at an intersection when the car and a van collided. The impact caused the van to overturn multiple times, according to witnesses. Additional details on the crash were not available in the report.

The incident apparently did result in injuries for the van driver as that individual was taken from the scene to an area hospital. It was not mentioned whether the driver of the car was injured. Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident, and more information may be available once the investigation concludes. At this time, it is unclear whether any citations or charges may be appropriate.

If the driver of the car is considered at fault for the accident and the driver of the van suffered serious injuries, a civil claim for personal injuries could result. The van driver may wish to utilize such legal options in order to seek compensation for damages resulting from the car accident. Information on how to go about filing such a claim in Illinois may be useful if that is an avenue that individual wishes to follow.
