Car accident kills woman in Illinois, family may seek justice

On behalf of of Frederick & Hagle posted in Car Accidents on Wednesday, February 10, 2016.

High-speed collisions typically cause significant damage to vehicles that are involved. In turn, the occupants of those vehicles could be severely hurt. It was recently reported that a car accident in Illinois led to a fatality. One of the drivers involved had been pursued by police not long before the crash.

Apparently, the situation began when police attempted to stop a vehicle whose driver was speeding. However, the driver fled, reaching speeds of approximately 80 mph. Police pursuing the vehicle stopped the chase likely due to safety concerns, but the driver continued at the high rate of speed. That car then collided with another vehicle that was being driven by a 55-year-old woman.

The woman died as a result of the collision and the injuries she suffered. It was also reported that the driver and passenger in the speeding vehicle were injured. At the time of the report, no charges had been filed in relation to the incident. Authorities are continuing to investigate, and more information may be available at a later time.

The family of the woman killed in this Illinois car accident are likely devastated by the sudden loss of their loved one. The difficulties they may face could be intense, and they may endure financial and emotional hardships. If they would like to seek compensation for these losses and other damages, they may want to consider filing a civil claim against the driver considered at fault. A wrongful death claim could allow them to work toward gaining reparations and seeking justice.
