Truck accident leaves man severely injured in Illinois

On behalf of Jeffrey Frederick of Frederick & Hagle posted in Truck Accidents on Friday, April 29, 2016.

When automobile crashes take place, there may be certain information that may not be immediately clear. As a result, determinations of who is considered at fault for a car or truck accident may not be revealed until after an investigation concludes. When such information is made known, parties seriously injured in such an accident may have cause to file a civil claim.

One individual in Illinois may be considering such an option after a recent crash. Reports stated that the accident occurred between a semi truck and another vehicle at approximately 11:30 a.m. It was unclear what may have caused the collision, but it was noted that the incident took place at an intersection. The driver of the car was reported as being 57 years old, and the driver of the truck was 60.

The car driver was seriously injured in the crash, and he was taken to an area hospital. However, due to his injuries, he was later taken to another medical center by helicopter. The semi-truck driver suffered only minor injuries. At the time of the report, authorities were continuing to investigate, and it was unclear which driver may have been at fault.

If the semi-truck driver is considered at fault for the crash, the severely injured party may wish to consider his legal options. Filing a personal injury claim may allow him to pursue compensation for medical bills and other damages resulting from the truck accident. Additional information on taking such a step in Illinois may help him determine whether it could be a viable path for him.
