Motorcycle accident claims life of Illinois man

On behalf of of Frederick & Hagle posted in Motorcycle Accidents on Wednesday, June 22, 2016.

When drivers attempt to make left turns, they cross other lanes of traffic. Although it may seem like a simple maneuver, a left turn could bring a vehicle into the paths of other drivers, and, as a result, a car or motorcycle accident could occur. In the cases of motorcycle crashes, the risk of serious or fatal injuries is high.

A recent crash involving a motorcycle and a car took place in Illinois and resulted in one fatality. Reports stated that a car was traveling east when the driver attempted to make a left turn. However, this action brought the vehicle into the motorcyclist’s path, and a collision took place. The incident happened around 11:15 p.m.

The motorcyclist was reported as being a 34-year-old man, and he suffered fatal injuries. He was declared dead almost half an hour after the crash occurred. It was noted that the man was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. Reports did not indicate whether the driver of the car suffered any injuries. Authorities were continuing to investigate at the time of the report.

Because this Illinois motorcycle accident resulted in the death of the man, his family members may have cause to file a wrongful death claim. This type of claim could help them seek justice and compensation for the death of their loved one. A successful claim could allow them to be awarded restitution for pain and suffering, funeral expenses and other damages stemming from the crash that are permitted under state law.
