Illinois car accident sends involved parties to hospital

On behalf of of Frederick & Hagle posted in Car Accidents on Wednesday, December 11, 2013.

Serious injuries can often cause significant setbacks in a person’s life mentally, physically and financially. Recovering from injuries can take its toll as the process is not always easy. The physical healing required after being involved in a car accident can seem frustrating, and the subsequent costs can be as well.

An accident occurred in Illinois involving two vehicles and sent two individuals to the hospital. Authorities were not yet releasing exact details as to what contributed to the accident, but photos from the scene show extensive damage to both vehicles. Those who witnessed the accident claimed that it looked like an explosion took place. This could possibly be attributed to the fact that the accident severed power lines in the area.

The extent of the injuries that the parties involved suffered was not disclosed in the report. It was noted that one driver had to be removed from the vehicle by emergency crews. It was also reported that one individual was taken from the scene by helicopter and the other by ambulance. It is unclear whether any charges have been or will be filed in relation to the crash.

Though specifics concerning the possible injuries that the parties sustained were not given, it is likely that some were serious. Serious injuries resulting from a car accident can lead to extended hospital stays, medical treatment and accumulated medical costs. As a result, the seriously injured party may wish to explore their legal options to determine whether they could possibly be entitled to compensation. Information on Illinois state laws could help them determine whether filing a personal injury claim against the driver deemed responsible for the accident would suit their circumstances.
