Young Illinois man killed in motorcycle accident

On behalf of of Frederick & Hagle posted in Motorcycle Accidents on Wednesday, September 11, 2013.

Families that have loved ones who enjoy travelling by motorcycle may have a certain sense of worry when those loved ones go out. A motorcycle accident can happen very quickly and result in serious or fatal injuries much more easily due to the lack of protection that larger vehicles offer. Should a family hear that a loved one was the victim of such an accident, they would presumably feel great anguish upon hearing the news. Many actions may need to be taken quickly after learning of a fatal event, and filing a wrongful death claim may be one of them.

The family of a young Illinois man may be facing such grief after he was killed in a motorcycle crash. The young man was reportedly traveling east when a vehicle traveling west attempted to make a left turn, and the vehicle and motorcycle collided. The cyclist was transported to an area hospital but was then flown by helicopter to another hospital where he later died.

The driver of the other vehicle and his passenger reportedly did not sustain any injuries as a result of the collision. Authorities from Sterling responded to the scene and were given assistance from Illinois State Patrol. There were no reports of charges being filed in relation to the accident at this time.

The family of the deceased victim may be faced with many decisions regarding how to proceed. Funeral arrangements for their loved one will need to be put in order, which could add a financial burden to their emotional struggles. Should the driver of the other vehicle involved in the motorcycle accident be deemed at fault, the family may wish to pursue a wrongful death claim against the driver in order to seek compensation for damages that Illinois law will allow.
