Truck accident takes place at Illinois intersection

On behalf of Jeffrey Frederick of Frederick & Hagle posted in Truck Accidents on Wednesday, March 19, 2014.

If a driver runs a red light at an intersection, it can be considered lucky if they are not involved in an accident. Though those lights are in place to assist in the flow of traffic and reduce the risk of an accident, the likelihood of an accident increases if the lights are disregarded by some drivers. If one of those vehicles is a semi-truck, a serious truck accident could occur that results in serious injuries.

A similar accident recently took place in Illinois when a semi-truck collided with the driver’s side of an SUV. It was reported that the accident took place at an intersection, and one driver likely did not have the right of way. At this time, authorities are working to determine which driver may have been the one to possibly have had a red light at the time of the event.

It was reported that the driver of the SUV suffered serious injuries as a result of the collision. The driver of the truck was also injured. It was not reported whether any charges have been filed at this time as authorities work to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.

It is unfortunately unsurprising that a truck accident has resulted in serious injuries. Such a large vehicle often has the power to cause significant damage when involved in a collision. As both drivers were injured in the accident, they may wish to learn more about their particular situations as authorities work to determine who may have been at fault. Once that driver is determined, the other injured party may wish to look into filing a claim against the driver deemed responsible in order to seek compensation for damages in Illinois.
