Semi truck accident leads to Illinois woman’s death

On behalf of Jeffrey Frederick of Frederick & Hagle posted in Truck Accidents on Wednesday, September 10, 2014.

Many factors can contribute to a serious accident taking place. As a result, authorities in the area should investigate the situation to determine what may have caused an accident and who may have been at fault. If a semi truck accident takes place, the incident may require different investigative procedures, and it should be ensured that all the evidence related to the event is being examined.

An accident recently took place in Illinois that resulted in the death of a woman. It was reported that the woman had apparently stopped at a stop sign at an intersection, and after stopping, she proceeded into the intersection. However, after moving forward, her vehicle was hit by a semi truck. It was not noted which vehicle may have had the right-of-way at the time of the collision.

The woman was extracted from her vehicle and transported to an area hospital due to her injuries. Unfortunately, she later succumbed to those injuries at the hospital. It was not noted whether the driver of the semi truck suffered any injuries in the accident. State police are currently investigating the event due to a semi truck being involved.

As the investigation continues into the semi truck accident, various factors may be considered, such as speed, which vehicle had the right-of-way and whether the drivers were taking the proper precautions for driving at night. If it is found that the driver of the semi truck may have been at fault, the family of the Illinois victim may wish to consider their legal options. A wrongful death claim may allow them to seek compensation for their loss and other damages resulting from the fatal event.
